Winemaker Notes
Master winemaker Bob Cabral has summoned his legendary skills to craft a wine worthy of the Iron Throne. Sourced from the finest winegrowing kingdoms of the land, it is as complex as the tales and histories it acclaims. Revel in the winemaker’s art, for winter is here.
This Pinot Noir is elegant, well-built and bursting with brilliant, ripe, rich fruit flavors and aromas. It is fruit focused with subtle tones of earthiness, vanilla, spice and toasted oak in the background. There is a long, smooth inviting finish; tannins are present and well blended.
The 2016 Pinot Noir is sourced from our vineyards in the cool Willamette Valley in northern Oregon. Nestled between two mountain ranges and influenced by the Pacific Ocean, our vineyard soil is rich, deep and well-draining.

COMMENTARY: The 2016 Game of Thrones Pinot Noir is almost too predictable. Highly acclaimed winemaker Bob Cabral has put together a beautiful and well-balanced wine. TASTING NOTES: This wine is bright, and lavish on the palate. Its aromas and flavors of ripe red fruits, oak accents, and a suggestion of minerality should pair it well with seared lamb chops. Home of some of the planet’s most amazingly elegant and expressive Pinot noir, the Willamette Valley is a pastoral, mixed landscape of green, bucolic rolling hills, dramatic forestlands and small, independent, friendly wine growers. As a leader in environmental stewardship, the valley has some of the nation’s most protective land use policies, with two-thirds of its vineyards farmed sustainably and over half, organically. While the valley claims a cool, continental climate, and is heavily influenced by the cold, moist winds of the Pacific Ocean, its warm and dry summers allow for the steady, even ripening of Pinot noir.
The potential of Willamette Valley Pinot noir continues to attract the investment of serious growers and winemakers both locally and from abroad, as naturally the finished wines bring accolades from professionals and enthusiasts. With a range of styles from delicate dried cherry, raspberry and hibiscus to stronger notes of truffle, mocha, plum and spice, a fine Willamette Valley Pinot noir is a perfect expression of both character and grace.
