Notes of toasted spices and hazelnuts with red plums, dark cherries and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a deep, layered character. Delicious fruit. Rich and compact with a succulent finish. Drink or hold.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The hot-vintage Frescobaldi 2020 Chianti Rufina Riserva Vigna Montesodi is true to Sangiovese. The wine shows clean aromas of dried redcurrant, cherry, earth, iris root and grilled herb. The mouthfeel is lean with lightly textured tannins that reinforce the wine's immediate drinking window. Sour cherry appears on this close of this proper, food-friendly Tuscan red (of which 35,000 bottles were produced).

Vinous
The 2020 Chianti Rufina Riserva Montesodi is laced with sweet dried cherry, white pepper, orange peel, rose petal and chalk, all of which lend notable aromatic brilliance. This mid-weight, understated Riserva is best enjoyed on the young side, while the fruit remains vibrant. Sweet floral top notes on the long finish add an exotic flair.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
