Distiller Notes
A 12-year aged single blended rum, consisting of both artisanal pot and traditional twin column coffey distilled molasses rums. Aged entirely in ex-bourbon barrels.
A full-bodied, yet deceptively elegant sipper especially at full proof with a long, pleasing finish. On the nose, notes of spice and orange, star anise and vanilla give way to red licorice, marasca cherries and dark chocolate. Elegant and lengthy on the palate, opening with clove, cinnamon and baking spices, balanced by fresh black plums, stone fruits, bananas foster, caramel, and a hint of pineapple and toasted pine nuts.
Often referred to as a Gold Rum, an Aged Rum is one that has been aged in barrels, often Ex-Bourbon or White Oak before bottling. As the Rum continues to age, it draws more and more color and flavor from the wood, adding both body and complexity to the finished product. Aged Rums can be sipped neat or added to cocktails. They fall somewhere in between White and Dark Rums in terms of their respective strength of flavor.
