This wine has an attractive and intense violet color. In the nose, it displays ripe red fruit aromas, such as plum, with a strong floral presence, combined with vanilla and chocolate hints granted by its oak ageing. In the mouth, it is a mild wine with sweet and velvety tannins. It has good balance, elegance and personality.

A 600 acre property owned by the Chilean Winery Santa Carolina, Finca el Origen rises to an altitude of 4,000 feet. In 2009, the vineyard grew a Malbec with enveloping depths of flavor, generous ripeness and a lasting sense of freshness. The structure is tense, built to accompany a seared sirloin.
Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
