2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition Gold Medal Winner

Fifty Pounds Gin is colourless in appearance “water white”, if you will – with spirit tails on the side of the glass. On the nose, it’s classic in character, with a predominant bouquet of juniper and coriander, balanced by its citrus and spice notes. On the palate Fifty Pounds Gin is smooth but complex, opening with juniper, but followed by the citrus constituents, and a hint of spice and earthiness. This gives way to a long, fresh finish, that’s clean, dry and with a touch of heat.

The Martini cocktail was originally made with equal parts sweet vermouth and gin. It became drier when martini introduces the dry vermouth and with the introduction of London dry gin.

Martini traditionally is stirred, but you can shake it if you use a smaller ratio, for example, 5:1.

If you prefer it less dry, you can increase the vermouth and lower the gin ratio creating another popular serve known as a Reversed Martini.

Produced only in accordance with strict purity standards formulated by an 18th century European Parliament that guaranteed the absence of toxic distillation byproducts, the phrase “London Dry” on a bottle doesn't refer to any specific place of origin, age or ingredients. To be called a London Dry Gin, the base spirit must be distilled in a column still to at minimum, 70% abv. Natural botanicals can be added to the resulting neutral spirit only through re-distillation. Anything added after distillation other than water and a tiny amount of sugar disqualifies a Gin from the title, London Dry.
