Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva 2010
The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva is host to a beautiful mix of black mineral, fruit, dried mint and eucalyptus. The wine shows elegant evolution in the glass and backs it up with dry, polished tannins. This is a stunning effort available at a reasonable price. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028
This gorgeous Chianti Classico has multifaceted aromas of blue flower, red berry, black plum, spice and a whiff of leather. The structured, juicy palate offers a core of ripe black cherry accented by cinnamon-spice and a touch of mocha alongside firm, polished tannins. It has both structure and finesse and should age beautifully. Drink 2015–2022.
A solid wine with beautifully integrated tannins and juicy fruit. Lovely austerity and all in balance. A real beauty. Drink or hold
Firm and juicy, exhibiting raspberry, cherry, black tea and tobacco flavors. An earthy element emerges on the long and grippy finish. Drink now through 2022.
The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without thinking of the other. Although Cabernet has many important outposts throughout the wine world, nowhere else has it achieved such success (and, at the highest end, commanded such lofty prices) than in Napa. Here, it is responsible for bold, opulent, and dark-fruited wines with grippy tannins and a healthy dose of alcohol. The best examples can age for decades. Each of Napa’s smaller sub-AVAs imparts a different character to Cabernet, such as Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
