Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2001 Syrah Eddie’s Patch (360 cases) is a blockbuster effort from this hillside vineyard. One-hundred percent destemmed, and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it boasts a roasted meat, charcoal-infused, blackberry-scented nose with hints of violets in the background. Dense, full-bodied, and super-rich as well as gorgeously pure with chocolatey, herbal undertones.

Wine Spectator
Intense and concentrated, almost syrupy. The core wild berry, blackberry, boysenberry, mint and beef scents give it plenty of flavor complexity, and it's focused, with a long, persistent aftertaste. Ripe tannins give it a smooth aftertaste.
