Layered lemon, tangerine, and herbal aromas and flavors leap out of glasses of this lively Vidiano, a dynamic indigenous Cretan variety. It has a structured palate with electric acidity and a long, tart finish, with a hint of salinity. Serve it with all sorts of grilled or roasted fish and light meats, or go for broke with pork bao or fried chicken.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Douloufakis 2025 Vidiano is a fresh and easygoing expression of one of Crete's most successful indigenous white grapes. Aromas of quince, pear and fresh mint lead the bouquet, while the palate shows a pleasantly waxy, almost creamy texture with notes of lemon zest and citrus peel. Made from 100% Vidiano and produced in 50,000 bottles, the wine balances moderate freshness with enough richness to give it a satisfying mouthfeel. Fermented in stainless steel and sourced from organic vineyards planted on limestone slopes at high elevations, it captures the variety's appealing combination of texture and aromatic lift.
There are hundreds of white grape varieties grown throughout the world. Some are indigenous specialties capable of producing excellent single varietal wines. Each has its own distinct viticultural characteristics, as well as aroma and flavor profiles.
As one of Greece’s largest island’s, its wines enjoyed high glory during the Middle Ages. Today Crete is full of ambitious winemakers with the city of Heraklion as its viticultural hub.
