If you dream of the great German Rieslings of the 1970's and 1980's, then this is a wine for you, even though it is riper and more concentrated than those icons of the past. In spite of the abundant generosity, this has a very long, distinctly cool finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold

The 2019 Riesling Spätlese Oberhäuser Brücke is very clear and refined on the coolish, precise and flinty nose. Juicy, refined and crystalline on the salty palate, with a firm structure, this is a remarkable terroir-driven Spätlese with a lot of piquancy and lingering salinity. Great tension and expression here. Highly promising!

Riesling possesses a remarkable ability to reflect the character of wherever it is grown while still maintaining its identity. A regal variety of incredible purity and precision, this versatile grape can be just as enjoyable dry or sweet, young or old, still or sparkling and can age longer than nearly any other white variety. Somm Secret—Given how difficult it is to discern the level of sweetness in a Riesling from the label, here are some clues to find the dry ones. First, look for the world “trocken.” (“Halbtrocken” or “feinherb” mean off-dry.) Also a higher abv usually indicates a drier Riesling.
