Winemaker Notes

Aromas of dark purple fruit, mocha and pencil shavings. Palate has a huge mouthfeel with intense but balanced tannins with blueberry cobbler and hints of vanilla. Nice, grippy, chewy finish with lingering blueberry notes.

Strong aromas of soil and crushed gravel meet with a fresh and buoyant streak of red fruit and peppercorn on the nose of this bottling. The structure is firm and taut but not chunky, with flavors of boysenberry, elderberry liqueur and more rocky earth.

Cabernet Franc, a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, is the subtler and more delicate of the Cabernets. Today Cabernet Franc produces outstanding single varietal wines across the wine-producing world. Somm Secret—One of California's best-kept secrets is the Happy Canyon appellation of Santa Barbara. Here Cabernet Franc shines as a single varietal wine or in blends, expressing sumptuous fruit, savory aromas and polished tannins.
