Distiller Notes
2017 San Francisco World Spirits Gold Medal Winner
With the perfect aromatic notes of oaken vanilla, caramel and maple sugar. Buttery caramel feel with harmonious wood-aged rum flavors and oily macadamia & pepper complexity finish. The youngest rum in the blend is 8 years, aged in American Oak ex Bourbon Casks (Kentucky sourced). Don Pancho wanted to recreate the rum he used to drink when he was young in Cuba, at a time where 7-year-old and 8-year-old where the oldest rums available.
A versatile product meant to drink it neat, on the rocks, or on a fine cocktail.
Proof: 80
Often referred to as a Gold Rum, an Aged Rum is one that has been aged in barrels, often Ex-Bourbon or White Oak before bottling. As the Rum continues to age, it draws more and more color and flavor from the wood, adding both body and complexity to the finished product. Aged Rums can be sipped neat or added to cocktails. They fall somewhere in between White and Dark Rums in terms of their respective strength of flavor.
