Aromas of raspberry, blueberry, violet, flowers and a touch of green pepper preface the 2021 Saumur Champigny Les Coudraies, a medium-bodied, satiny and ample wine with bright acids, powdery tannins and a long, mineral finish with hints of licorice. It was crafted from vines in clay-limestone soils.

The 2021 Les Coudraies is starting to drink well after a year in barrel followed by two years in bottle prior to release. It is supple and finely textured with chalky tannins that provide a gentle yet assured frame. This single-site 2021 provides red fruit flavors alongside floral notes, padrón pepper and a hint of smokiness.

Inside the Saumur region, Saumur-Champigny creates some of the Loire’s greatest Cabernet Francs.
