Distiller Notes
Distilled in vintage copper Pot Stills in the year indicated on the label, the rum is then aged in Bourbon and Single Malt Whisky casks for twelve years. After the ageing process, the Maestros Roneros carefully blend the rum in order to obtain the structure, body, personality, flavors and aromas that they are looking for. Finally, the rum spends a year in Spanish Sherry casks to provide the perfect finish.
A very charming nose that reveals notes of smoked coffee, chocolate and tobacco, followed by vanilla and ripe fruits. On the palate it is soft and well rounded, with flavors of bitter chocolate and a pronounced mellow finish with hints of red fruit. Although the rum composition is similar to our other vintages, the 2005 is slightly less dry.
Single Vintage is the ideal rum for sipping.
From pirate life on the open sea to Caribbean island paradises, perhaps no other spirit evokes such a romantic history as Rum. Made through fermentation and distillation of molasses or the fresh-pressed juice of sugar cane, Rums range from 20% to over 70% alcohol and come in a variety of tones from clear to dark. Highest quality Rums are generally produced in pot stills and aged in wood, while less expensive Clear or “White” Rums are produced in column stills and bottled without barrel aging. Naturally, Rums form the base of tropical cocktails like Daquiris and Mojitos.
