Distiller Notes
The Dictador 100 Months Claro Rum is matured in ex-bourbon barrels for... well... 100 months. Following this, the Claro is filtered to remove its color but not the flavor, resulting in a full-bodied rum suitable for use in cocktails where you wouldn't want to alter the hue of your drink. Great for bartenders, home-bar enthusiasts or people who just simply enjoy great Colombian rum.
The aromas are enjoyably musty, with notes of walnut and new leather. Lighter touches of fresh lemon and whipped cream. On the palate, waxy orange and ripe apple. Sugared almond and brandied cherry - a bit amaretto-esque. On the finish, peanut brittle, cassia, cardamom and brown sugar.

Often referred to as a Gold Rum, an Aged Rum is one that has been aged in barrels, often Ex-Bourbon or White Oak before bottling. As the Rum continues to age, it draws more and more color and flavor from the wood, adding both body and complexity to the finished product. Aged Rums can be sipped neat or added to cocktails. They fall somewhere in between White and Dark Rums in terms of their respective strength of flavor.
