Distiller Notes
Condesa Clasica Gin is Mexico City Extra Dry Gin. A beautifully balanced and aromatic expression of palo santo, Mexican white sage, jasmine and nine other botanicals sourced from Mexico. Ingredients are inspired by traditional healer (curandera) rituals including resins believed to expand consciousness, flowers to attract love and herbs to ward off negative energies. Palot santo is a fragrant wood that has been used for medicinal purposes and in purification rituals for centuries. Traditionally considered a deeply sacred and spiritual tree which possesses a cleansing energy. With similar compounds to citrus, it imbues a uniquely resinous, earthy and meditative quality to the gin. Mexican white sage balances the resinous notes of the palo santo with a herbaceous, almost savory flavor with hints of bright peppermint. The beautifully aromatic notes of jasmine, working together with Mexican lime and orange burst through the woody, earthen elements to give an uplifting, balanced finish.
Enjoying an enthusiastic resurgence in modern cocktail culture, Gin, a.k.a. ‘Dutch Courage,’ was originally touted as a 16th century cure for cowardice and stomach ailments. Arguably the broadest and most dynamic category of spirits in terms of flavor profiles and production styles, Gin is a distilled grain spirit that derives its primary flavor from juniper berries and secondary flavors from a dazzling array of spices, herbs, fruits and botanicals. It is both produced and enjoyed all around the world and is most commonly mixed into cocktails such as the Martini or simply added to tonic water.
