Distiller Notes
Canvas focuses on the generous sweetness of whiskies aged in American oak barrels. However, to complete the composition, they have turned to an experimental parcel of single malt re-racked into Spanish orange wine casks for three years. Bright, bold and delicious, the aim with Canvas is to inspire further creative work. Pour a glass, prime your canvas, and fill the frame. The gloriously waxy and citrusy nose is followed by forest honey and vanilla shortbread notes on the palate. Flavors of nutmeg, cardamom and chocolate intertwine in the long-lasting finish.

Very delicate fruitiness on the nose with lychee, white currant, honeydew, green apple, vanilla sponge, baking spices, meringue nests, and white flowers. Single malt matured in experimental casks seasoned with vino naranja adds intrigue to the blend. A lovely weighty mouthfeel plays a duet of melon and tangerine, perky spices interject, with star turns from nectarine, white peach, shortbread fingers, almond, and nougat as it dilutes. A gentle beauty.
Originally created as a lighter alternative to Single Malts to appeal to the Americans during Prohibition, Blended Scotch Whiskies are a mix of both grain and malt whiskies that have been sourced from multiple distilleries and aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels. Nine out of every ten bottles of Scotch sold is a Blended Scotch Whisky and they are generally far more affordable than Single Malt Scotch Whiskies.
