In the bottle with the Klimt-inspired artwork on the front label, the Colterenzio 2023 Alto Adige Sauvignon Lafóa shows a ripe side of the grape with tangerine skin and lemon drop. You feel the warmth of the vintage in this very tropical and fragrant wine. There is a note of sweetness too that offers hints of chamomile, honey and waxy candle on this partially oak-aged wine. Those sensations are followed by glossy richness on the mid-palate.
Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance.
