Winemaker Notes

The wine has a bright golden yellow color with bright reflections. The nose is elegant with notes of white flowers, citrus and toasted almonds with some hints of wild honey. The mouth is very balanced, upright and greedy, combining aromas of pear and lemon verbena. A gourmet, elegant blend with freshness.

Pair with fried scallops, zucchini flower fritters and candied lemon.

A mix of Clairette, Clairette Rose, Grenache Blanc, and the rest Viognier and other permitted varieties, the 2023 Côtes Du Rhône Bouquet Des Garrigues Blanc is a more classic Côtes Du Rhône Blanc with its bright citrus, honeyed mint, and mineral-driven nose. This carries to a medium-bodied white that's balanced, has a terrific sense of acidity, and a salty finish that makes you salivate.

More complex than the regular bottling, the 2023 Cotes du Rhone Bouquet des Garriques Blanc offers up aromas of pear, white peach, blossom flower and white fruits. Medium-bodied, round and elegant, it's delicately juicy on the mid-palate with great acids and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a blend of 50% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette Rose, 20% Roussanne and 10% Viognier.

Full-bodied and flavorful, white Rhône blends originate from France’s Rhône Valley. Today these blends are also becoming popular in other regions. Typically some combination of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier form the basis of a white Rhône blend with varying degrees of flexibility depending on the exact appellation. Somm Secret—In the Northern Rhône, blends of Marsanne and Roussanne are common but the south retains more variety. Marsanne, Roussanne as well as Bourboulenc, Clairette, Picpoul and Ugni Blanc are typical.

Typically thought of as a baby Chateâuneuf-du-Pape, the term Côtes du Rhône actually doesn’t merely apply to the flatter outskirts of the major southern Rhône appellations, it also includes the fringes of well-respected northern Rhône appellations. White wines can be produced under the appellation name, but very little is actually made.

The region offers some of the best values in France and even some first-rate and age-worthy reds. Red wine varieties include most of the Chateâuneuf-du-Pape varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and Counoise, as well as Carignan. White grapes grown include Grenache blanc, Roussanne and Viognier, among others.
