Made with Clear Creek's Pear Brandy as its base spirit, this Pear Liqueur is a true pear explosion. It’s lovely as an alternative to a dessert wine, and is delicious paired with sharp cheeses as a pre-dinner treat. The taste is surprising complex, smooth, slightly floral, with a little bit of acidity, and a pear finish that lingers long after you set down the glass.
Used in sparkling wine, it makes a decadent “Kir”. At Clear Creek, we call this the “Kir Blonde”.
First prepared by 13th century Italian monks as herbal medicines and elixirs, Liqueurs are distilled spirits that have been combined with flavoring agents. A range of herbs, spices, nuts, fruits and flowers can be used, and a sweetener such as sugar or corn syrup is often added. While typically rather sweet, some examples are herbaceous or tart and pair exceptionally well with desserts or act as a delightful addition to cocktails.
