Winemaker Notes

Chateau Peymouton 2012 has a wonderful deep ruby color. It reveals a rich and elegant nose with delicious aromas of blackcurrant and plum. On the palate the attack is powerful, with fine, silky tannins. There are beautiful notes of ripe red fruits and the subtle minerality on the finish contributes to the freshness of the wine.

Blend: 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

If I could spend my days in Paris and just writing away, I would. On the other hand, one cannot deny that Saint-Émilion is one of the world's most picturesque cities. Just thinking about a glass a wine, a baguette some strong fromage and being in the center of town is an undeniable wine lovers' image. When I tasted the superb 2012 Château Peymouton this picture came to mind. If you can't travel to France, just pop the cork on this wine and you will be instantly transported to one of most beautiful wine places in the world. Drinks well now. (Tasted: November 17, 2015, San Francisco, CA)

In this smooth and rich wine, tannins glide across the palate leaving ripe fruit in their wake. It is concentrated, full of berry fruits and juicy blackcurrants. Full and fruity, this delicious wine will develop quickly. Drink from 2017.

Chateau Peymouton Winery Image
The story of Peymouton began before the last classification of the Saint-Emilion appellation in 1996. On the 61 hectares planted with vines that belong to the estate, plots have been selected separately, in strict conformity with the requirements of its rank. 27 hectares are used for the production of the Grand Cru Classé Chateau Laroque, and the remaining 34 hectares are used for the production of Chateau Peymouton.
