Winemaker Notes

Cuvée Prestige offers the best expression of Grimont's terroir, made from a selection of well-exposed hillside plots and carefully matured. Structured to improve with age, Château Grimont Cuvée Prestige is a very promising wine: elegant, full-bodied and powerful, with notes of black fruit.

Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

Scented bramble on the nose. Smooth, supple and energetic blend of 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Bright strawberries, red cherries and raspberries supported by chalky tannins. Soft flecks of spicy liquorice linger in the mouth giving the wine frame and body. Bold, full style, with great drive and persistence, that needs time but feels well worked. Classy and characterful. In organic conversion.

A blend of 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from the principal property of the Yung family. The juicy fruits and wood aging are combining well with rich tannins and jammy fruitiness to give a wine that will age.

One of the world’s most classic and popular styles of red wine, Bordeaux-inspired blends have spread from their homeland in France to nearly every corner of the New World. Typically based on either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot and supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the best of these are densely hued, fragrant, full of fruit and boast a structure that begs for cellar time. Somm Secret—Blends from Bordeaux are generally earthier compared to those from the New World, which tend to be fruit-dominant.

Extending over verdant slopes between the Rivers Dordogne and Garonne, the Entre-Deux-Mers region (“between two seas”) offers great value and a splendid introduction to the dry reds and whites of Bordeaux. Merlot and Cabernet comprise most of the reds; Sauvignon blanc and Semillon are responsible for the whites, all of which are best enjoyed in their youth.
