Winemaker Notes

A wine round and fruity by its blending dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and also complex by the presence of Petit Verdot and Malbec, which bring intense licorice aromas. This elegant wine with a beautiful finesse on the palate and a good length offers a very nice potential.

Blend: 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec

Wine Enthusiast
A fresh and juicy wine with a smoky edge, this is full of acidity and spice. Bright berry fruits are succulent and young, with acidity and freshness just beginning to calm down. Drink from 2025.

James Suckling
This has aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, walnut husks and bark. It’s medium- to full-bodied, with juicy berry fruit in the forefront, framed by sleek tannins. Simple, but balanced.

Extending over verdant slopes between the Rivers Dordogne and Garonne, the Entre-Deux-Mers region (“between two seas”) offers great value and a splendid introduction to the dry reds and whites of Bordeaux. Merlot and Cabernet comprise most of the reds; Sauvignon blanc and Semillon are responsible for the whites, all of which are best enjoyed in their youth.

One of the world’s most classic and popular styles of red wine, Bordeaux-inspired blends have spread from their homeland in France to nearly every corner of the New World. Typically based on either Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot and supported by Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, the best of these are densely hued, fragrant, full of fruit and boast a structure that begs for cellar time. Somm Secret—Blends from Bordeaux are generally earthier compared to those from the New World, which tend to be fruit-dominant.
