Distiller Notes
Château de Laubade XO Bas Armagnac is an elixir with a unique, timeless radiance.
It is a superb, brilliant, deep-amber color, with an intense bouquet, redolent of prunes, vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, almonds, and toast, featuring hints of orange peel and dried apricot. Its soft, velvety mouthfeel follows through into enticing complexity.
The smooth aromas and subtle flavors evolve elegantly and harmoniously on the palate, developing into a remarkably long aftertaste.

Immerse in the comforting, concentrated caramel aroma. The soft palate opens sweet with sarsaparilla, cocoa and vanilla, but dries into cigar wrapper and chamomile. The finish is laced with nutmeg, cardamom, and cayenne spice. Average age of blend is 18 years old, aged in Gascony black oak barrels.
Cardinal Vital Du Four claimed that it “cures gout and cankers, heals wounds of the skin … renders men joyous, preserves youth and retards senility.”
Armagnac is produced in the Gascony region of Southwest France and is among the earliest of spirits produced, prescribed over the last 700 years for a myriad of therapeutic benefits. Owing to its ancient heritage, the production method is much simpler than that of its cousin, Cognac, with just a single distillation through a column still prior to barrel aging. This yields a spirit that is generally more flavorful and fragrant than other Brandies.
