Winemaker Notes
Critical Acclaim
All VintagesThis has quite an exotic array of tropical fruit and ripe nectarines. Really nicely cut balance between sweet-fruit flavors and freshness here. A blend of 71.9% pinot noir, 24.3% chardonnay, 2.1% pinot meunier, 1.4% shiraz, 0.2% pinot gris and 0.1% riesling. Drink now.
Smooth and luxurious, this rich and balanced wine layers persimmon and ginger over white cherry and raspberry for a complex and delicious expression. It is smooth, medium bodied and balanced toward the soft side.

Born in 1973 from the sparkling connection between two pioneers, and raised among the peaks and valleys of the golden state of California, we are Chandon California. The vision of our founders? To make the very best Californian sparkling wine possible. Vibrant, fresh, approachable, Chandon California uses the same three noble grape varieties used in Champagne (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier), but our grapes enjoy the sunnier Californian climate, resulting in flavor that is more fruit-forward. We invite you to grab your squad, pop a bottle, and discover more.

California enjoys a long history and proven reputation as an admirable source of sparkling wines. Agoston Haraszthy, who established Buena Vista Winery in the mid 1850s, first attempted to make traditional method sparkling wine in California in the 1870s. Shortly thereafter Korbel followed, and with great success. Today domestic producers such as Schramsberg, Iron Horse and J. Wine Co remain at the forefront of the market.
Since the 1970s the state has consistently attracted the attention and investment of large and respected European and French-based firms who are responsible for Domaine Chandon, Mumm-Napa Valley, Roederer Estate and Domaine Carneros (Taittinger), to name a few. Anderson Valley and Carneros remain standout regions for top quality Pinot noir and Chardonnay for these.
