Winemaker Notes
The Chalmers Vermentino is bright and fresh, and designed to be drunk young, with white florals, Meyer lemon, white stone fruits, pine nuts and salty sea air. It is light to medium bodied with a fine and racy mouth feel perfect with fish and chips or a plate of pork dumplings.

This is a vermentino that you should buy and drink. It tastes of citrus and crushed grapefruit, but it's the balance of it, and the mouthfeel of it, and the way the ripeness of the fruit works in so beautifully with the round-edged bitterness of it, that makes it such a source of pleasure.
A fantastic, aromatic white grape that grows with great success in Sardinia, Tuscany and in lesser proportions on the island of Corsica. Somm Secret—Vermentino is thought to be genetically identical to Liguria’s Pigato grape and Peidmont’s Favorita. It comprises a large proportion of the whites in southern France where it is called Rolle.
Historically some of Australia’s most lucrative gold country, today Heathcote maintains its esteemed reputation as a source of country’s best red wines. The rolling countryside of ancient reddish brown soils bordered by mountain ranges that funnel cool air into the region during the growing season create some of Australia’s most deeply-hued and impressively layered Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
