Distiller Notes

Sacramento is one of the oldest areas in the country to grow barley; it was first planted there in 1771. As Sam became the First Millionaire of California, he was also pivotal to Sacramento. He profited from the thriving general stores for miners, served in the California State Senate, spearheaded development of the town, and was the largest landowner.

Deep amber in color with aromas of toasted bread, candied citrus and roasted nuts. On the palate butterscotch, stewed orchard fruit and dark chocolate. Aged in new charred American oak wine casks.

A popular favorite among emerging niche categories of American Whiskies, American Single Malts now compete with the best from Scotland, Ireland and Japan. American Single Malt Whiskeys must be mashed, distilled and matured at a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley. There are well over one hundred distillers producing a variety of high-quality American Single Malt Whiskeys.
