This Cabernet hits on the nose with deep, dark aromas of blackberries, plums, cocoa and roasted hazelnut. The palate is rich, with silky smooth tannins and flavors of roasted berries, milk chocolate and barrel spice that soften along the finish.
Every great story starts with a leap of faith — a bold decision to try something new, take a risk, and see where it leads. Just like Calculated Risk's wines, life's best moments are about stepping out of your comfort zone and sharing those experiences with the people around you.
Calculated Risk is more than just a wine—it's a tribute to the bold thinkers, risk-takers, and visionaries who shape the world for the better. It's for those who don't leave things to chance, but carefully weigh the odds, trust their instincts, and move forward with intention.
Every bottle is crafted with that same fearless spirit—where innovation meets intention, and where breaking the mold is just part of the process. Calculated Risk honors those who challenge norms, embrace the unknown, and make their mark through deliberate, daring choices.
Here's to the crazy ones, the ones who change the world.
While Sonoma County is acclaimed—and rightfully so—for its Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Zinfandels, it also produces exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Of the region’s 18 American Viticultural Areas, only a handful produce top-notch Cabernet Sauvignon. These appellations include Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Sonoma Valley and Dry Creek Valley. Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignons made in these appellations can offer a complex array of aromas and flavors. Fruit notes such as blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis, black cherry and raspberry often are accompanied by hints of graphite, dusty earth, cigar box, toast and vanilla. The varietal has a rich history in Sonoma, and some of these Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet-based blends rival the best from Napa Valley.
