Distiller Notes

BroVo's first amaro is made in the Gran Classico style. A citrus heavy amaro with a heavier spice profile. This is the most traditional of BroVo's three flagship Amari. Amaro #1 starts with clove and cardamom, moves into orange, lemon and galangal, before finishing with canella (Mexican cinnamon) and pink peppercorn. It is sweetened with agave nectar.

Bartender John Ueding contributed to this citrusy sipper. It has a bright-orange appearance and mellow, a mild aroma that hints at sarsaparilla. Sweetened with agave nectar, it's viscous and relatively sweet up front, but dries to show cinnamon bark, bitter orange peel and plenty of clove and black pepper on the finish.

First prepared by 13th century Italian monks as herbal medicines and elixirs, Liqueurs are distilled spirits that have been combined with flavoring agents. A range of herbs, spices, nuts, fruits and flowers can be used, and a sweetener such as sugar or corn syrup is often added. While typically rather sweet, some examples are herbaceous or tart and pair exceptionally well with desserts or act as a delightful addition to cocktails.
