Distiller Notes
The aroma of this light golden Genever is characterised by sweet and fruity notes of dried fruit, such as apricot, but also leather and grains. Those same wonderful notes also emerge in the flavour. You taste hints of toffee and licorice. This Genever is aged for a year in oak bourbon barrels and skillfully blended by our distiller from fine-grain distillates and the purest grains (7%) and malt wine (25%).

From the Dutch word for “juniper,” Genever is a blended spirit made in Belgium or Holland. To produce Genever, a Whiskey-like distillate from a combination of malted grains is combined with a neutral grain spirit, similar to Vodka, and then infused or further distilled with juniper and a wide range of spices and botanicals. It can be clear, lightly aged and light in color, or aged in oak for several years. Jonge (young) Genevers are usually milder in taste compared to oude (old) Genever, whose smokiness and heavier malt notes resemble Scotch Whiskies more than London Dry Gins.
