Winemaker Notes

Smooth and inviting, the Bogle Petite Sirah Port unfolds with lush layers of boysenberry jam and black raspberries. Aromas of French vanilla and chocolate mocha captivate the nose, with a hint of pipe tobacco on the finish. Aged 31 months in neutral American oak barrels, this dessert wine needs no accompaniment. And because Port ages well, it can be enjoyed for the next 20 years.

This rich wine pairs well with all the classic accompaniments, including chocolate, strawberries and Stilton cheese.

This wine is rich and supple, with aromas of brandied cherry, plum, citrus and dried roses on the nose. The flavors on the palate are black plum syrup, cassis and blackberry honey, with a mouthwatering. Pair with fig tart.

The vineyards just inland from the Sacramento River Delta, along the deep banks of the Sacramento River, comprise the Clarksburg AVA. The River Delta channels in cold air and fog from the Pacific Ocean creating a cooling effect in this area. Warm summer days quickly change to chilly evenings and make a great environment for grape growing. While a range of grape varieties grow here, Chenin blanc stands out the most, distinguishing itself in the appellation.

The Clarksburg Wine Growers and Vintners Association, made up of nearly 50 grower members and over a dozen wineries, has been working since the late 1980s to promote the high quality wine of its region.
