Winemaker Notes
Intense, fruity and cheerful, Sela is a wine with a lot of liveliness. Red fruits in the line of fresh cherries dominate with undertones of sage and cedar. The structure is gracefully supported with fine, silky tannins for a persistent, lovely finish.

Bright cherries with a ferric touch as well as spices. The palate is tender, round and enveloping, friendly but with a sense of seriousness. Very harmonious and cohesive, with a polished and enveloping blanket of tannins. This comes from vineyards that they think are less structured, some from Baños de Ebro. This is aged in used French oak.

There’s ripe black plum and black raspberry reduction at the center of this wine, as licorice root, mulling spices, and vanilla round things out. Fine and dry in flavor with a mineral streak. Pair it up with roasted pork shoulder. Reflecting the restraint of the vintage,
Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.
Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
