Medium depth with a red base and rim. Intense nose with red fruit aromas standing out. Cherries and raspberries are the standout fruits. The oak is perfectly integrated, almost imperceptible. Some very light and pleasant fresh spices emerge, topped off with a faint hint of incense. The wine is medium-bodied with a light, very pleasant character, with a mid-palate full of fresh red fruit aromas. It has good length, and the character of the fresh fruit remains in the mouth. Very good tannins are appreciated, bringing life to the wine.
Blend: 95% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha

The aromatic and gentle 2023 Sela is the youngest expression of Tempranillo they have, this year only combined with 5% Garnacha (no Graciano this time). It fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak vats and matured in used French barriques for 12 months. It's medium-bodied, juicy and refreshing and comes in at a moderate 13.5% alcohol, with a pH of 3.73 and six grams of acidity. The oak is neatly integrated and feels young and primary, quite balanced and fine-boned, with very elegant tannins.

Lots of fruit here, a little baked, showing cherry compote, red plums and a touch of raspberry jam. Juicy on the palate with medium body and fine tannins. Delicious now.
Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.
Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
