Bodegas Roda Roda I Rioja Reserva 2010 Front Label
Bodegas Roda Roda I Rioja Reserva 2010 Front Label

Winemaker Notes

Very intense and complex, with very black fruit and some red glitters. Flavors of black plums blended with sweet spices and at the same time fresh fruit buds. Cocoa and damp earth with some aromatic herbs. Light chocolate and plum notes. Great volume, with a very silky touch and fine tannin. The cocoa and the fruit are perfectly integrated, combining ripeness and freshness. Excellent and elegant in the mouth, light, lively and voluminous all at the same time. Minerality and complexity with long, lingering finish.

Blend: 98% Tempranillo, 2% Graciano

Time has mellowed this ripe and rich wine leaving it silky in spite of the intensity and depth. Tannins are now polished and the finish is long and fine.

Hailed as the star red variety in Spain’s most celebrated wine region, Tempranillo from Rioja, or simply labeled, “Rioja,” produces elegant wines with complex notes of red and black fruit, crushed rock, leather, toast and tobacco, whose best examples are fully capable of decades of improvement in the cellar.

Rioja wines are typically a blend of fruit from its three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental, although specific sub-region (zonas), village (municipios) and vineyard (viñedo singular) wines can now be labeled. Rioja Alta and Alavesa, at the highest elevations, are considered to be the source of the brightest, most elegant fruit, while grapes from the warmer and drier, Rioja Oriental, produce wines with deep color, great body and richness.
