The 2010 Valentin Bianchi Malbec exhibits a deeper color and more depth and concentration than the Elsa cuvee. Notions of cedar, spice box, lavender, damp earth, and cherry cola inform the nose of this firm, savory, nicely proportioned Malbec that offers very good value. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
