Finca Mirador's personality shines through the wine, vintage after vintage, with a recognizable and repeated signature. Fermentation took place in a small tank. At dryness, the wine was pressed and racked into French oak barrels, 100% new, where it was then aged for 15 months.

The purple-colored 2006 Finca Mirador is sourced from a vineyard planted in the 1940s with yields under one ton per acre. It offers slightly more complexity revealing a splendid perfume of toasty oak, mineral, mocha, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. Round, layered, succulent, and rich, its pure, fruit-filled finish lasts for 45+ seconds.

The most approachable of the Achaval-Ferrer single-vineyard wines comes from soils rich in clay and sand. It's a malbec with deep flavors, intoxicating black cherries and violets, all framed in tense acidity. A seductively juicy and fresh match for cassoulet, this will also mature well over the next five years.
