Wine Spectator
This has a stunning nose, with a high-toned violet note running through waves of warm blueberry, fig, boysenberry and raspberry compote. The intense palate is superracy, with superb underlying minerality driving the fruit through the long, seamless finish. Flaunts power without ever getting bombastic. Malbec. Drink now through 2018. 818 cases made.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The purple-colored 2006 Finca Mirador is sourced from a vineyard planted in the 1940s with yields under one ton per acre. It offers slightly more complexity revealing a splendid perfume of toasty oak, mineral, mocha, violets, black cherry, and blueberry. Round, layered, succulent, and rich, its pure, fruit-filled finish lasts for 45+ seconds.

Wine & Spirits
The most approachable of the Achaval-Ferrer single-vineyard wines comes from soils rich in clay and sand. It's a malbec with deep flavors, intoxicating black cherries and violets, all framed in tense acidity. A seductively juicy and fresh match for cassoulet, this will also mature well over the next five years.
Most distinguished and celebrated from Argentina’s Mendoza, Malbec has seen runaway success since the early 2000s. Mendoza’s agreeable, continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold snowy winters allows the perfect conditions for growing outstanding Malbec. This grape is easy to like for its lusty, deep flavors and aromas of blackberry, plum, red cherry, autumn spice and tilled earth. It’s easy to find delicious, fruit-driven, affordable everyday examples and in prices beyond, quite exceptional ones with dense, supple textures that make them capable of aging.
