The 2016 Biserno is a softly textured wine with enormous richness, plushness and softness. The bouquet opens to profound depth with thick layers of dark fruit, sweet spice, chocolate, tar and camphor ash. Biserno is a large-frame, full-bodied blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This vintage delivers enormous precision, grace and sharpness; however, the lasting impression it leaves is one of power, opulence and irresistible concentration. This wine speaks generously to all the senses, and to your heart. Rating: 98+

Lodovico Antinori estate Biserno is a boutique winery with vineyards at the northern edge of Bolgheri village, bordering Bibbona. Biserno's main character is its dense and creamy palate with full body and great depth. The 2016 is slightly leafy on the nose, with a dried eucalyptus leaf aroma followed by precise cassis fruit on the palate. It will evolve well thanks to its concentration and balance, developing its typical depth of tarry and earthy notes that are typical of this mediterranean climate.

Aromas of cedar, cassis, camphor and oak-driven spice are front and center on this fragrant, full-bodied red. On the precise, savory palate, firm, elegant tannins offer polished support for juicy red berry, licorice and tobacco while fresh acidity keeps it balanced. It's young but already shows an impressive depth of flavors. Drink 2021–2031.

Black currant, violet, mint, bell pepper, tobacco and spice aromas and flavors permeate this red. Lean and taut, with fine overall balance and plenty of reserve in the tank. Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2023 through 2035.

Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.

A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
