From Mexico to New York: Started in 2019, RG | NY is a new brand from the Rivero González family who have cultivated the land of their vineyards in Parras, Coahulia Mexico –the oldest winegrowing region in the Americas - for 25 years. The González family is characterized by being true to their values excellence, heritage, craft, innovation, sustainability, and community. They aim to continue their family’s winemaking tradition and legacy on the North Fork. Bright, expressive, young, and fruit-forward. These are wines that perfectly represent North Fork region; well-balanced acidity and freshness with a lingering finish that seamlessly makes them the perfect wines for year-round consumption. Comprised of complex wines from special vineyard blocks with smaller productions; wines that require greater attention, as there’s more challenge in finding the perfect balance and expression, to harvest at the right time, and to respect what the fruit has to give us. RG | NY is a member of Long Island Sustainable Winegrowing (LISW); not-for-profit organization that provides education and certification for Long Island vineyards in order to reduce the environmental impact.

Whether it’s playful and fun or savory and serious, most rosé today is not your grandmother’s White Zinfandel, though that category remains strong. Pink wine has recently become quite trendy, and this time around it’s commonly quite dry. Since the pigment in red wines comes from keeping fermenting juice in contact with the grape skins for an extended period, it follows that a pink wine can be made using just a brief period of skin contact—usually just a couple of days. The resulting color depends on grape variety and winemaking style, ranging from pale salmon to deep magenta.
