Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Made with mostly Cabernet Sauvignon supported by a smaller percentage of Cabernet Franc, the Belguardo Mazzei 2021 Maremma Toscana Rosso Riserva Tenuta Belguardo is nicely stitched together, showing pretty intensity and vertical lift that are characteristics of the vintage. The wine is redolent of sweet fruit, cooked cherry and baking spice.

The nose is balanced, with fruit aromas of pomegranate and black plum but also savory notes of top soil, graphite and coffee. Blackberries, plums and figs star on the palate, but there's a strong, lingering earthiness too, until a fresh mint breeze blows across the finish. Tannins are almost slippery, but still powerful, like a creature of the deep.

A layered wine, showing bright-red cherries and plums with spicy aromas such as graphite and vanilla. Medium-bodied. Crisp and chewy with velvety fruit-soaked tannins, savory and polished.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
