Details Many states prohibit out-of-state retailers from shipping wine to residents of their state. State laws on wine shipping are complex and under constant review, and we look forward to a day when all states open up to out-of-state retailers so we can offer you all our full assortment of products. In the meantime, we've opened a network of Wine.com warehouses in a number of states, giving us a local presence in those states. This enables us to legally ship wine to our customers in those states while also reducing the shipping time to get you your wine. Unfortunately, in some states not even that will suffice, so keep those letters and emails flowing to your state legislators! States with zip code restrictions on wine shipments Local laws prevent us from shipping to certain zip codes in the states below. Information regarding zip codes that are not currently serviced by Wine.com will appear at the time that orders are placed. Alaska Florida Idaho New Hampshire States with additional regulations Connecticut & New York: State regulations prohibit wine and food from being shipped in the same package. Gifts & Baskets ordered that include both food and wine will be sent in two separate packages. Texas: Texas state law prohibits us from shipping wines containing more than 16% alcohol.
02. State Selection Process - Why must I select a state before shopping?
Because wine availability and pricing may vary from state to state due to the way interstate commerce laws influence our buying patterns, Wine.com created the select-state layover screen for you to select the state to which you are shipping before you actually start shopping. To be sure of seeing correct pricing and availability when shopping at Wine.com, please be sure to choose your shipping destination from the "select a shipping state" pull-down menu before you begin shopping. We've learned from experience that customers sometimes browse while "shopping in" a default state, then switch states when they're ready to complete an order, only to discover the wine they want isn't available or is priced differently for that location.
03. Shipping Rates - What do you charge for shipping?
For Standard, non-scheduled delivery, Shipping and Handling rates are...
| Wine | $10.95 per order + $1.50 per bottle | | Wine Gift Baskets | $9.95 + 5% of the regular retail price | | | Non-Wine Gift Baskets | $6.95 + 7% of the regular retail price |

04. Special Delivery Options - What are my delivery options?
Shipping options are important because an adult signature is required for the delivery of alcoholic beverages. To ensure prompt and successful deliveries, make sure to select the shipping option that best meets your needs:
Standard: Most cost effective and best when you are not in a hurry or if you are shipping to a work address where an adult is available to sign for the package. Evening (5pm-8pm, Tues-Sat): Best when you or your gift recipient is home most evenings. Please note this service does not allow you to choose a specific date or exact time, but will set the delivery for between 5pm-8pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Saturday or Date-Specific: Best for gifting occasions or when you want to be sure you are there to sign for the package. Please note this service does not allow you to set a specific delivery time, but will allow you to select a specific date for the first delivery attempt to occur. By Appointment: Select the arrival date in your order and the carrier will call the provided contact number to schedule a delivery time (generally a 2-3 hour window). For Evening, Saturday, Date-Specific or By Appointment delivery, additional charges may apply. Not all shipping options are available in all locations and for all products. Options available for your order will appear in checkout. Wine Clubs ship Standard. Only Standard Shipping is currently available for our Wine Clubs. Initial Wine Club shipments will arrive within 5 business days of processing.
Select Shipping Options in the Confirm Order step of the shopping cart: In the final stage of the checkout process (before you place your order), the Wine.com Shopping Cart provides a calendar like the one shown below, showing the costs and estimated delivery times for each option based on your particular order. Note, not all shipping options are available in all locations or for all products. Only the options available to your delivery destination will appear.
05. Bottle Limits - Why would the shopping cart limit the wine I can buy?
In most states, regulations limit the amount of wine that can be shipped to a single address in a given period of time. The limits vary state to state, some with monthly limits and others with yearly limits. Because of these regulations, if an order you are placing will exceed the bottle limit to your shipping address, our wine.com shopping cart will not allow you to place the order and will let you know you have exceeded your limit.
There may also be times when a wine.com, or one of our distributors, a winery or wholesaler has specified a limit on a specific wine because of limited availability. If you encounter a limit and would like further clarification, you may contact Wine.com Customer Care for help with your options by clicking Ask a Question or calling 800-592-5870.
