This is a nice red at a great price. It needs to be decanted for a couple of hours before serving. It goes great with meat with some fat in it.
Kim Crawford is one of the most consistent wines you'll ever encounter. It's a white wine that pairs up well with most food. It's crisp and delicious on it's own. It's great for making pan sauces. There's always half a case of this stuff in my cellar. The vintage never matters. If you want a friendly white to serve to guests, this is the one. And the QPR is fantastic. Put it in the fridge half an hour before serving.
I found this wine remarkably light to be rated 93. It does have nice fruit but is very thin bodied...you can see through the glass. If you prefer a bolder wine, as I do, you probably will be disappointed with this wine. It's not a bad wine, it's just not my preference. Based on what it is...a pinot noir...I think a 90 rating is more in line.
