      Description

      We created this gift set for the wine connoisseur. It includes everything needed to open, aerate, document, chill, and preserve your next bottle of wine!

      Gift Set Includes:

      • Pulltap's Two-Step Waiter's Corkscrew in Graphite:
        This wine opener is not only extremely beautiful, but feels strong and sturdy in the hand. It has a unique hinged double-lever system which helps lift the cork along a straight vertical line so there is no struggling sideways against the bottle neck. Opener also includes a serrated knife blade and contoured steel handle.

      • Vinturi Wine Aerator::
        The Vinturi Red Wine Aerator delivers aeration in the time it takes to pour a glass. Simply hold Vinturi over a glass and pour wine through. Vinturi draws in and mixes the proper amount of air for the right amount of time, allowing your wine to breathe instantly. The results are a better bouquet, enhanced flavor, and a smoother finish. No-drip stand and filter screen included.

      • Moleskine Wine Journal:::
        Collect and organize your love for wine with this special wine journal. Journal includes 6 theme-based sections to fill in, 6 tabbed sections to personalize, 10 blank pages for notes and thoughts, 202 adhesive labels for customizing, wine glossary, measures, conversions, 3 bookmark ribbons, and a double expandable inner pocket.

      • Vacu Vin Rapid Ice Wine Cooler:::
        Chilling wine quickly and keeping it cold is no longer a problem using the Rapid Ice Wine Cooler. Simply put the cooler in the freezer until cold, then remove and slip over a wine bottle. The contents will be chilled after 5 minutes and stays cool for hours.

      • Private Preserve Wine Preserver:::
        Private Preserve is a spray can of inert, safe, non-flammable, tasteless gases (harmless Nitrogen, carbon dioxide and argon). When sprayed into the bottle, it is heavier than air and blankets the wine with a protective layer which blocks out the oxygen and preserves the taste and bouquet of wine.

      Napa Valley

      View all wine

      One of the world's most highly regarded regions for wine production and tourism, the Napa Valley is the AVA that brought worldwide recognition to California winemaking. The area was settled by a few choice wine families in the 1960's who bet that the wines of the area would grow and flourish. They were right. The Napa wine industry really took off in the 1980's, when vineyard lands were scooped up and vines were planted throughout the county. A number of wineries emerged, from large conglomerates to small boutiques to cult classics. Cabernet Sauvignon is definitely the grape of choice here, with many winemakers also focusing on Bordeaux blends. Whites are usually Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

      Within the Napa Valley lie many smaller sub-AVAs that lend even more character specifics to the wines. Furthest south is Carneros, followed by Yountville, Oakville & Rutherford. Above those two are St.-Helena and the valley's newest AVA, Calistoga. These areas are situated on the valley floor and are known for creating rich, smooth Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. There are a few mountain regions as well, nestled on the slopes overlooking the valley AVAs. Those include Howell Mountain, Stags Leap District, and Mt. Veeder. Wines from the mountain regions are often more structured and firm, benefiting from more time in the bottle to evolve and soften.
