Because of their belief in the importance of local agriculture and the fact that sugar cane isn't readily available in Michigan, Two James decided to take their Rum project to the Caribbean, and the "Land of Wood and Water."
Two James imports several different Jamaican rums and ship them back to their distillery in Detroit where they are artfully blended and aged in special Moscatel barrique. The result is a high esther flavor bomb of incredible length and complexity. The Doctor is most definitely IN!

Two James is located in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, and is the first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition. Two James is committed to producing only the highest quality environmentally conscious handmade spirits utilizing locally sourced agricultural products with the aim of revitalizing the community and reinforcing the craft product movement.

From pirate life on the open sea to Caribbean island paradises, perhaps no other spirit evokes such a romantic history as Rum. Made through fermentation and distillation of molasses or the fresh-pressed juice of sugar cane, Rums range from 20% to over 70% alcohol and come in a variety of tones from clear to dark. Highest quality Rums are generally produced in pot stills and aged in wood, while less expensive Clear or “White” Rums are produced in column stills and bottled without barrel aging. Naturally, Rums form the base of tropical cocktails like Daquiris and Mojitos.
