Turramurra Shiraz 1998

Intensity is again the apt descriptor of this wine. New French oak was used for this wine to add refinement to the big plum and pepper flavours. The result is a beautiful balance between the grape derived and barrel characters. The ripe plum flavours are offset by the white pepper so evident in Turramurra Shiraz. This example combined the best features of Shiraz grown in a cool climate to full ripenesses. The alcohol level of 14.4% matches well with the intensity of flavour. This is a wine of great palate depth and persistence. A wine to be enjoyed for a long time.
