Grapes for this wine come predominantly from our home vineyard near the winery in St. Helena. To ferment the wine, Derek employs the "rack and return" fermentation technique favored by top Bordeaux chateaux, which enhances color and flavor while softening tannins. The wine ages 16-18 months in new French and American oak barrels before bottling.
