Rich, sweet and creamy toffee on the nose combines with fresh fruit notes. On the palate, it is rounded with vanilla and sweet oak notes, and has a fruity character that develops with time. Soft and lingering on the finish.

Smooth, slightly sweet, rich, and balanced; elegant, silky, and classic. Toasty and long, with considerable vanilla, soft spices, and honey as well as floral notes—undoubtedly showing some of the flavor characteristics of the aged rum that previously occupied the barrels in which this spirit rested.

The distinctive character of The Balvenie all began in 1892, when William Grant built his distillery in the 'new' Balvenie Castle (constructed in 1724 for the first Earl of Fife). It's located in the region of Speyside on the lower slopes of the Convals, the hills which dominate Dufftown.

“A good gulp of hot Scotch Whisky at bedtime–it’s not very scientific, but it helps!”

Alexander Fleming, Scottish inventor of penicillin, prescribed it as a cure for the common cold. Today Single Malt Scotch Whiskies are prized by enthusiasts and aficionados the world over for their rarity, age and complexity. By definition these must be produced in Scotland from a single distillery and made entirely from malted barley, using a pot still. The appearance, aroma and flavor of a Single Malt Scotch Whisky can vary widely depending on whether it was produced in the Highlands, Lowlands Islands, Speyside, Islay or Campbelltown regions.
