    Winemaker Notes

Solaris is the Latin term for "of the sun"-- an essential component to life on earth. The sun also played a crucial part in the growing of the grapes, making them a product of the sun.

These grapes come from award- winning vineyards in famed viticultural areas near Rutherford and Oakville. The blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 2% Petite Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc reveals an intense bouquet. Aromas of black cherry, eucalyptus and perfumed floral notes are intermixed with a spicy oak core. Medium to full-bodied, this wine is concentrated and complex. Its heavy palate weight and moderate tannins are wrapped around flavors of black berries, black cherries and fennel. Drinkable now if paired with robust foods but could benefit from a bit of cellaring.
