Shelton Viognier 2000

Viognier is a varietal well suited to the growing environment of the Georgia and North Carolina piedmont. We sourced the fruit for our Viognier from BlackStock Vineyards of Northern Georgia. Grower David Harris is a Viognier specialist and produced wonderful fruit for this wine. Shelton Vineyards Viognier has a generous pineapple, pear, and honeydew core accented with fresh fig, almond, and spice delivered in a subtle creamy texture. Winner of a double gold medal at the 2001 North Carolina Wine Competition, a silver medal at the 2001 Atlanta International Wine Summit, and a bronze medal at the 2001 Taster's Guild Consumers' Wine Competition in Washington, DC.
