Winemaker Notes
Elegant Blanc de Noir Cuvée, which was traditionally named after the first daughter Marie-Luise. The grapes come from various vineyard plots in our locations in Rheinhessen and the Palatinate. Because Flörsheim-Dalsheim lies exactly on the border of these two wine-growing regions. This variety of soils and climatic influences gives the cuvée a charming complexity and fine aromas. In terms of taste, Cuvée Marie-Luise is characterized by delicate fruit, especially white peach and juicy apricot. This sparkling wine is rounded off by a fine spiciness and a flattering interplay of fruit sweetness and acidity. Very typical of this cuvée: the taste is reminiscent of red sour cherries.

In 1990, Sekthaus Raumland was founded by Volker Raumland, often described as the pioneer / the grandseigneur / the Sektpapst in Germany. Volker Raumland is the one who dared to start a new “quality revolution” in German Sparkling Wine. The two daughters Marie-Luise and Katharina are joining the family estate in 2020, continuing with the same passion and love for high-quality German sparkling wine that their parents had and still have.
Sekthaus Raumland is purely focused on the production of Sekt and thus the whole work is organized around and adjusted for the elaboration of the most delicate and finest sparkling wines.
Representing the topmost expression of a Champagne house, a vintage Champagne is one made from the produce of a single, superior harvest year. Vintage Champagnes account for a mere 5% of total Champagne production and are produced about three times in a decade. Champagne is typically made as a blend of multiple years in order to preserve the house style; these will have non-vintage, or simply, NV on the label. The term, "vintage," as it applies to all wine, simply means a single harvest year.
