Dark in color, the 2013 John C. Sullenger Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a serious wine. Beautiful aromas of red and black fruits, spice and earth offer insight to the characters on the palate; plum, black cherry, anise, cedar, tobacco leaf, and tea blend together to create an abundance of flavors. This wine is thick and coating with a denisty reminiscent of hillside fruit. Slightly chalky tannins resolve themselves as the juicy fruit claims the finish.

    Without question, the 2013 Nickel & Nickel John C. Sullenger Cabernet Sauvignon is one of finest wines of an excellent vintage. When I tasted this wine I was absolutely amazed with its depth and style. Deep ruby black in color; aromas are electrifying and complex with dried leaves and black currants, very rich; medium bodied, ultra-rich on the palate, with fine and sweet tannins; dry, medium acidity, well balanced; concentrated black currant flavors, with notes of sweet earth and dried leaves; long finish, savory, rich aftertaste.     The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon John C. Sullenger Vineyard (14.9% alcohol) shows gorgeous blueberry and blackberry fruit, white flowers, sweet tannins and a full bodied opulence. There is plenty of structure behind all the fruit, and the wine is a 25-year wine for sure.
