- Rombauer Chardonnay:
Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1982 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer, and sits on a tree covered knoll overlooking the Napa Valley. The winery features caves that extend for over a mile into the hillside, which provide a constant temperature and humidity that result in optimum conditions for aging the wines. Koerner's ancestors made wine in the famous Rheingau region in Germany and his great aunt, Irma Rombauer, wrote the book "The Joy of Cooking," hence their focus on wine as a complement to good food and good friends.
- Duckhorn Merlot:
Co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting Bordeaux varietals from the Napa Valley for over 30 years. Duckhorn Vineyards' seven meticulously farmed estate vineyards, located throughout the various microclimates of the Napa Valley, are an essential element in making wines of the highest quality. It was one of the first wineries to focus on Merlot as a premium varietal. The Napa Valley Merlot is a complex blend of several individual vineyard lots, incorporating fruit from Estate Vineyards and from top independent growers throughout the Napa Valley.
- Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon:
Frog's Leap is an iconic California winery dedicated to organic farming, sustainable living and quality wines. Situated in the Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley, Frog's Leap produces wine under the leadership of John Williams, a former dairy farmer from New York who created the winery in 1981. Frog's Leap presents a relaxed approach to enjoying wine. An easy hospitality and warm sense of humor is juxtaposed with a more serious sensibility when making wine.
The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without thinking of the other. Although Cabernet has many important outposts throughout the wine world, nowhere else has it achieved such success (and, at the highest end, commanded such lofty prices) than in Napa. Here, it is responsible for bold, opulent, and dark-fruited wines with grippy tannins and a healthy dose of alcohol. The best examples can age for decades. Each of Napa’s smaller sub-AVAs imparts a different character to Cabernet, such as Rutherford’s famous dust or Stags Leap District's tart cherry flavors.
